Meet the Founder

Hi, I'm Brandy, the founder of FermIQ Discovery Lab!

I'm an engineer, biotechnology professional, author, and U.S. Navy veteran with over a decade of experience in science, engineering, and biotechnology. I hold a bachelor's degree in Electronics Engineering and a master's degree in Biotechnology, and I've spent much of my career helping others understand and apply complex scientific technologies.

Throughout my career, I've developed a deep appreciation for the opportunities that education can create. I've also recognized that science, technology, and engineering can be challenging subjects to teach and access, particularly when resources and hands-on learning opportunities are limited.

I believe a child's access to quality science and technology education should never be determined by their family's financial circumstances or the resources available in their community.

That belief inspired me to establish FermIQ Discovery Lab, a nonprofit organization dedicated to making STEM education more accessible, engaging, and meaningful for children of all backgrounds.

My passion extends beyond teaching scientific concepts. I want children to develop a genuine love for learning, embrace their curiosity, ask questions, and gain the confidence to explore subjects that may initially seem difficult.

Through hands-on experiments, creative problem-solving, and industry-inspired learning experiences, I aim to bridge the gap between classroom education and real-world science while reducing barriers to meaningful STEM opportunities.

At the heart of FermIQ Discovery Lab is a simple belief: every child deserves the opportunity to explore, discover, and realize their potential.

I'm proud to bring this mission to life in Oklahoma, one discovery at a time.
